Reflective Writing

As a university student, I have to always be well prepared for my English. I grow up in a mandarin-speaking environment that resulting in my English ability is not as competitive as native students or the students from English background. My limitation of English has directly leads to an undesirable academic result. Thus improving my English is the top priority. There are four aspects I have to work on, which are speaking, listening, reading and writing.

In order to improve speaking and listening skills, I should have more conversation with fluent English speaker. I have to overcome the difficulties in the pronunciation and my ascent. I shall not to be afraid being laugh by the surrounding. Subsequently, by watching English news and drama, whenever there is a choice, is another ideal way to improve my speaking and listening skill. As time goes by, I will be more familiarised with their ascent from a fluent speaker.

My another weak point is writing, which includes vocabulary, grammar, sentence construction and logic thinking. These few points can be learnt through reading of books and newspapers, as they are the reliable sources of proper English. And then I will take down the tough vocabularies. My volume of vocabulary can be amplified through accumulating them. Moreover, the reading skill will be improved as well.

By completing ES1102 plus the above-mentioned method, hopefully my English standard can graduate to a higher level. Therefore, I can harvest a better grade in my academic result.
